'Power tool' dentist imposter may get bail revoked

Prosecutors in Texas want to revoke and raise the bail of a dentist imposter who is accused of using power tools to perform a veneer procedure that left a man permanently disfigured, according to a story published on August 5 on KPRC 2.

In July, Jadan Miorke, 34, of Forever Veneers was charged with a felony count of practicing dentistry without a license and was released from police custody on a personal bond. On August 2, prosecutors filed a motion to revoke and raise the bond of the Houston man because he reportedly continues to advertise his veneer services online in violation of the conditions of his bail.

On July 19, Miorke was ordered not to perform or advertise any dental services that he was not licensed or certified to do on social media. The Texas Board of Dental Examiners confirmed that Miorke does not hold any dental, hygienist, or assistant licenses in the state. Also, Miorke is accused of having an active website that promotes not only dental procedures but in-house financing and credit cards and discounts, according to the story.

Police became interested in Miorke after Sheron Robinson, who resides in Rhode Island, contacted police accusing Miorke of giving him a botched veneers procedure. Robinson claimed the veneers Miorke gave him left him permanently disfigured, leaving him with gaps, difficulties eating, and malocclusion. Also, at the time, at least one of the veneers had already fallen off.

Robinson further told authorities that Miorke allegedly used power tools during his appointment in March to grind down his teeth so he could adhere veneers to his natural teeth. Robinson claimed he was not aware that Miorke did not have a license to perform dental services until he contacted the state dental board. Robinson traveled from Rhode Island to Texas for the veneers procedure after seeing Forever Veneers' advertisement on Instagram with a promotion of 20 veneers for $8,700.
