Oral surgeon will not face 2nd trial

An oral surgeon will not face another trial for misdemeanor sex assault and battery charges stemming from accusations that he molested several patients at a practice in California, according to a story published on March 18 in the Vacaville Reporter.

It was concluded that Dr. David Webb of the now-closed Northern California Facial and Oral Surgery will not face a second trial after the state prosecutors consulted with his alleged victims, according to the story.

After several days of deliberations in February, a jury in California acquitted Webb of sexual assault but couldn't reach a verdict on five misdemeanor sex assault and battery charges.

In 2022, the allegations, which included Webb purportedly having female patients touch his genitals, came to light after patients reported that he assaulted them.

Webb no longer has a dental license in California and voluntarily surrendered his license in Idaho, where he currently lives, according to the story. Nevertheless, Webb still faces several civil lawsuits from several women who have accused him of abuse.
