Texas dental school names director of pain center

Dr. Kenneth Hargreaves, PhD, has been named the first director of the University of Texas (UT) Health Science Center at San Antonio School of Dentistry's Center for Pain Therapeutics and Addiction Research.

Hargreaves has managed more than $139 million in funded projects. Also, his recent work focuses on using omega-3 fatty acids to treat chronic pain as an alternative to opioids, which could have broader applications beyond dental care.
