Ore. expands affordable dentistry for underserved

Neighborhood Health Center has opened a dental clinic in Oregon City, OR, to serve uninsured and insured patients.

The clinic is the latest of five community-based clinics originally created by CareOregon, the largest managed care organization serving Medicaid patients in Oregon, according to a story in Oregon City News.

In August, CareOregon turned over management of the clinics to the nonprofit Neighborhood Health Center.

Neighborhood Health Center will also operate clinics in Beaverton, Canby, and Milwaukie, and will provide services for those who have no dental insurance or are covered by the Oregon Health Plan (Medicaid) or other insurance. If a patient does not have dental coverage, the clinic has a sliding fee scale based on income and family size.
