Glidewell donates products to Calif. dental program

Glidewell Laboratories has donated a Prismatik CZ6 sintering oven to the Simi Valley Adult School and Career Institute, the only government-funded career retraining school in California that offers a dental technology program.

Glidewell is also donating a number of zirconia blanks that students can use to mill crowns and bridges as a part of their education.

"The school was unable to work on all-zirconia restorations because they did not have a proper oven, so they would miss out on learning half of the restoration process," stated Wilma Peterson, CDT, manager of education at Glidewell Laboratories, in a press release. "Now they can complete an entire zirconia crown in the classroom."

The Simi Valley Adult School and Career Institute is the adult education division of the Simi Valley Unified School District. The school has the largest number of medical and dental training programs among all adult education programs in California.
