Cleankeys upgrades its disinfectable keyboard

Cleankeys launched on Thursday an upgrade of its easy-to-clean keyboard at this week's Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting. Because it is watertight and has a smooth surface, the keyboard can be wiped with a disinfecting cloth or cleaned with soap and water, according to the company.

With the new version, users can rest their hands on the home row of keys without activating them. It also comes with the choice of glass or molded acrylic surfaces. The molded acrylic surface has indentations for keys to provide a more tactile typing experience, said Cleankeys spokesman Sean Garrett.

Cleankeys studies found that a single wipe with a disinfecting cloth kills 99% of bacteria on the keyboard.
