ADEA jobs project honored by Robert Woods Johnson

The American Dental Education Association (ADEA) received the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s (RWJF) President’s Grant to expand its health careers website, ExploreHealthCareers.org.

The $50,000 grant will add new components and resources to the site that will provide low-income and underrepresented minority youths access to more than 120 health care careers, 500 funding and enrichment programs, and 7,000 academic programs, the ADEA said in a press release.

“ADEA is grateful for the continued support of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation,” said ADEA President Ronald J. Hunt, D.D.S. “The President’s Grant will help ExploreHealthCareers.org build a stronger, motivated, and diverse health workforce.”

The President’s Award complements earlier RWJF funding and will expand the website audience and actively engage visitors including middle and high school students. The website also provides educators and parents with tools to interest young people in health care careers.

The new interactive content for the site will include profiles of RWJF scholars, providing role models and inspiration to young students. Information on prevention and wellness, increased social marketing features, and expansion of the mentoring and tracking components, will also be included.
