A dentist in Brazil died on October 1 after a horse fell on top of her while she was training for an upcoming equestrian event, according to news reports.
Lidia Pires, 32, who operated a cosmetic dental practice in the country’s capital city of Brasilia, was performing a practice run and pulled the horse’s reins too hard, causing her to lose her balance. The dentist fell to the ground and the horse landed on top of her. Pires went into cardiac arrest and was taken to the hospital but couldn’t be revived.
