The ADA installed Dr. George R. Shepley as its 159th president. Previously, Shepley served as president-elect and trustee of the 4th district for the association.
Shepley also served as an alternative delegate from 2006 to 2017 and as chair of the ADA Council on Communications, the Budget and Finance Committee, and the Committee on Annual Meetings. Shepley served two terms on the State Public Affairs Oversight Committee and as a board liaison to the Council on Members Insurance, the American Student Dental Association, the Council on Government Affairs, and the American Dental Political Action Committee.
Shepley is a member of the Maryland State Dental Association and previously served as a past president. He was also president of the Baltimore City Dental Society and the Maryland Academy of General Dentistry. During his presidency at the ADA, Shepley intends to lead a business and cultural shift to build a stronger future for the profession of dentistry and the ADA.
