Want to help with Texas relief efforts? Here's how

The devastating flooding and rainfall in Texas from Hurricane Harvey this week have led many organizations and businesses to set up ways to donate to relief efforts or receive aid. DrBicuspid.com offers a listing of relief efforts that will be updated as more efforts become known.

Organizations

Texas Dental Association Relief Fund

The Texas Dental Association (TDA) has established the TDA Relief Fund to provide financial assistance to members of the dental profession who have immediate, basic needs as a result of a natural disaster or catastrophe.

American Dental Association Foundation

The American Dental Association Foundation has set up a "How to Help" page for victims of the Texas flooding here.

The Emergency Disaster Grant Program also is available if you are one of the affected practices. You can apply for a grant of up to $2,000 to help address the following personal needs: food, bottled water, clothing, blankets, medicines and medical supplies, emergency shelter, and toiletries. Grants can be applied for here.


Saint Bernard Project

The Saint Bernard Project (SBP) has set up a page for donations here. The project will use the funds to aid in the rescue, relief, and rebuilding efforts of all those affected by the storm. Ultradent Products has pledged $250,000 to the project.


Dental assistants' relief

IgniteDA has set up a GoFundMe page to help dental assistants in Houston and south Texas. As noted on its page, every penny raised will go toward helping dental assistants.

American Red Cross

The American Red Cross has set up a page for donations to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey here.


Dental companies

The following companies are offering disaster relief options.

Henry Schein

Henry Schein is offering its disaster relief hotline for customers affected by the flooding in Texas.

Dentists, physicians, and veterinarians who have operational, logistical, or financial issues as a result of the floods can call the toll-free number 800-999-9729. The hotline is open from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Central time and remains open year-round to provide assistance to practitioners affected by disasters.


Patterson Dental

Patterson Dental is offering various financial terms to dentists operationally affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana to help them re-equip and resupply their dental practices.

Dentists affected by the hurricane in the counties where a state of emergency has been declared can obtain assistance from Patterson by contacting their local representative or calling 800-873-7683.


Ultradent Products

Ultradent Products is offering dentists affected by Hurricane Harvey $500 worth of free products, with 40% off all consumable products and 15% off all equipment purchases exceeding the initial $500 in the hopes of providing some aid in the rebuilding efforts of the dental community.
