One of the biggest questions I am getting from dentists and dental team members in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic is the current state of infection control and what infection control might look like once we are all able to return to practice.

I recently had the pleasure of talking with dental infection control expert Leslie Canham, CDA, RDA, about this very subject. We also discussed the concern I am hearing from many of you about aerosol spray from procedures and what that might mean for your health, as well as upcoming procedures and the corresponding personal protective equipment (PPE).

As a note, the ADA has has offered interim mask and face shield guidelines. Please consult this page as it contains the latest information from the ADA.

Please watch the video below and hear what Canham has to say about high-volume evacuation (HVE) and its effects on aerosols. You can also click here and here for studies previously published on the subject.

We have also been compiling plenty of other videos with industry leaders on everything from insurance to communication with patients and team members. We are constantly adding new videos, thanks to our partners at CareCredit and Patterson Dental, as we continue to pick the minds of some of the most knowledgeable experts out there.
