University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Dentistry has named Elena Ortega, RDH, as the interim program director of the Master of Science in Dental Hygiene, effective February 1.
Ortega, a clinical instructor in the department of preventive and restorative dental sciences, is the director of UCSF's Dental Hygiene Affiliation Program and succeeds the late Margaret Walsh, EdD, professor emerita.
"I hope to carry forward Dr. Walsh's vision of graduate dental hygiene education with the goal of improved global health," Ortega said.
