Dugoni Golf Classic raises $70K for kids' oral healthcare

More than 200 golfers came together for the University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry's 17th Annual Kids in the Klinic Golf Classic earlier this month.

The event at the Olympic Club in San Francisco raised more than $70,000 to support the Kids in the Klinic Endowment, which helps provide oral healthcare for underserved children at Dugoni's Hutto Patterson Pediatric Clinic and Redmond Family Orthodontic Clinic.

"These funds will make a positive difference in the lives of many underserved children and their families from throughout Northern California," stated Dr. Patrick Ferrillo Jr., dean of the dental school, in a press release. "Thank you to everyone who participated in this memorable day to provide care for children, regardless of their family's socioeconomic status or ability to pay."

Through the generosity of donors, the Kids in the Klinic Endowment has grown to more than $2 million. Each year, funds from the endowment are used to provide care to underserved children from throughout Northern California. Many of the children do not have access to dental care and some have extreme medical problems, birth defects, or other debilitating conditions.
