Take a team-based approach to case presentation

Case presentation shouldn't be limited to the operatory or consult room. In fact, it is an ongoing process that occurs throughout the patient experience. In reality, every patient interaction makes a case for or against accepting further treatment. That's why it's so necessary to have the entire team involved!

Get the staff involved. Case presentation is a team effort. The practice cannot increase production if only the dentist is recommending treatment. It would be like a quarterback trying to throw a touchdown pass without the offensive line blocking. Without the help of the dental team, the dentist will struggle to educate patients on recommended treatment.

Don't try to do it all yourself. There's an old saying, "Many hands make light work." This is especially true regarding case presentation. One presentation by the doctor may not be enough anymore to motivate some patients to accept treatment. But if the whole team is committed to educating patients about services, then your job as chief case presenter has gotten a whole lot easier. Empower your team to take your production to the next level!
