Artificial intelligence (AI) technology developer Pearl said it has received a U.S. patent for the image annotation software that helps drive its Second Opinion dental radiology device.
The patent covers the program that runs Second Opinion's user interface, which was designed to facilitate an ergonomic user experience, the company said. The AI-assisted device detects pathologies, restorations, and other dental conditions on x-rays and displays the findings in the clinical setting for practitioners and patients.
This is the third patent Pearl has received this year for AI programs.
