Pearl has received a Medical Device Establishment License from Health Canada for its Second Opinion artificial intelligence (AI) software.
The dental AI software is now licensed for distribution in Canada, according to the company. It previously received the CE Mark in Europe and Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA)/Medsafe clearance in Australia and New Zealand for aiding dentists in detecting various dental conditions via x-rays in accordance with patient and user safety standards.
Second Opinion analyzes radiographs in real-time, and dentists can review and add or reject its findings while conducting exams, Pearl said.
