The ADA said it has reimagined its annual meeting, which is being called SmileCon and will be held October 10-13, 2021, in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

For example, SmileCon 2021 will be built around participants, emphasizing their experiences and desires, according to the ADA. Social events such as BrainDates, a Buddy Program, Dine-Arounds, and more will be designed to cultivate communities among attendees.

In addition, the continuing education (CE) course list will be simplified and offer popular topics more than once. Topics not offered in 2021 will be featured in subsequent years to ensure a unique learning experience each year, according to the ADA.

The association said that SmileCon will also focus on peer-to-peer learning and mentorship. What's more, the exhibit hall has been redesigned as Dental Central, a hub for connecting with the dental community. Lounges and cafes will be sprinkled throughout the space, the ADA said.

Dental Central will also enable more one-on-one interaction with exhibitors, as well as smaller satellite stages for presentations that encourage group learning, according to the association. These multipurpose stages will be used to provide CE content, industry updates, and presentations on dental trends.

Registration for SmileCon 2021 is expected to begin in late spring 2021.
