Editor's note: This is a continuation of a yearlong series that is designed to help dentists and team members understand their practice management software better. Today, we are providing you with a tip from Tracey Thompson, a product trainer at Curve Dental. Later this month, we will post questions and answers from a Dentrix and an Eaglesoft expert.
Q: How can I compare the number of patients I have seen since opening my doors from COVID-19 versus how many patients I saw at the same time last year?
A: That's a great question! Coming back to work after the pandemic is exciting and a little stressful. Comparing numbers for patients you've seen after coming back to work versus the patients you saw at the same time last year will tell you whether you are back on track or not.
If you are back up to the same number as last year or even more, rest assured your production is thriving. If your numbers are low, it might be time to reach out to your patients.
Here are some simple ways to compare patient numbers.
Dashboards: Reviewing Curve Hero's amazing graphs can give you a quick insight into the critical operational trends that drive your practice for patient information and for financial information as well.
Use the production by patient report: This report will show you the patients you have seen and the production associated with each patient.
Filtering the production by patient report: Doing this is extremely easy and can be utilized nearly out of the box to get what you need. Merely set the date range for the time you have come back from COVID-19. Once you have done this, you will be able to see a breakdown of not only each patient seen but also the production associated with the patient.
Comparing to last year's production by patient: It is as simple as changing your filters for the date range to represent last year's date at this time.
