Patterson Companies reported higher sales in its dental segment for the fourth fiscal quarter of 2019 but slightly lower sales for all of 2019.
For the quarter (end-April 27), net sales in the company's dental segment, which represented approximately 40% of total company sales, were $563.5 million, up 3.2% from the same quarter of 2018.
Within the dental segment, sales of consumable dental supplies decreased 1.9% and equipment sales increased 11.9% for the quarter. Other services and products, primarily composed of technical service, parts and labor, software support services, and office supplies, increased 7.0%, according to the company.
The company announced an overall increase of 2.6% in total net sales to more than $1.4 billion, compared with the same period last year.
For fiscal 2019, the company reported that dental sales were down 0.2% from 2018, while company-wide net sales increased to $5.6 billion, up 2.0% from the previous year.
