OrthoAccel Technologies has joined messaging service Orthodontext to allow orthodontists to send their patients text messages reminding them to use AcceleDent for 20 minutes daily.
Patient compliance is a key component of the effectiveness of AcceleDent, a noninvasive, class II medical device cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), according to OrthoAccel. AcceleDent speeds up orthodontic treatment by as much as 50%, the company said.
Through the partnership, AcceleDent providers will be offered a 30% Orthodontext lifetime discount and an additional 30-day free trial requiring no setup fee or contract.
Orthodontist Hilton Goldreich, DDS, and software engineer Richard Wiltshire co-founded Orthodontext with the idea that patients share responsibility in the success and pace of their own treatment.
