By the year 2030, the number of U.S. adults 65 years or older will reach 72 million, a 100% increase since 2000. Yet there are many barriers to effective communication with these patients in dental practices. Dental care providers can overcome these barriers by using communication strategies specially tailored to older patients, according to a new study. At the Yankee Dental Congress in Boston, Philips introduced a new, free, online patient risk assessment tool called CARE to aid dentists in making treatment decisions and increase patient education. Read more here.
