Delta Dental of Tenn. sponsors Big Brothers Big Sisters Alliance

Delta Dental of Tennessee has donated $15,000 to the Tennessee Big Brothers Big Sisters Alliance in support of the statewide initiative to help mentor children across the state.

The association is a collaboration between Big Brothers Big Sisters chapters in Nashville, Clarksville, Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Memphis that are working together on administering programs that provide a mentor for children facing adversity, according to a press release.

In addition to the funding, Delta Dental of Tennessee is providing toothbrushes to children in the Big Brothers Big Sisters programs in February h in honor of National Children's Dental Health Month. Volunteers who serve as Big Brothers and Big Sisters to children in the program encourage many healthy habits, such as proper nutrition, exercise, and oral hygiene, through their involvement in their Little Brother or Sister's lives.

The alliance was formed after a federal grant provided funding for the Amachi program, which serves Tennessee children with incarcerated parents.
