Meanwhile, in imaging news, the increasing adoption of cone-beam CT in dentistry has prompted much discussion of how to control the amount of radiation patients are exposed to. Now researchers from the University of Wurzburg have demonstrated that magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a safe and effective option for orthodontic pediatric patients.

Finally, in the latest installment of Beyond Practice Management, Dr. Don Deems has put out a call to action for new leadership to help return the dental profession to something that can quickly respond to the changing needs and demands of both the profession and the people dentists are supposed to be serving.
