The University of the Pacific (UOP) Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry and Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy are partnering with Kaiser Permanente to offer a free health fair to California residents in the Central Valley on March 9.
The event will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Pacific's Chan Family Health Sciences Learning Center and Clinic Building on the university's campus in Stockton. Free bus rides to the clinic are being provided by the San Joaquin Regional Transit District. It is open to attendees of all ages.
Student, faculty, and staff from the pharmacy and dental schools, along with community volunteers, will provide care for patients at the health fair. Services offered will include immunizations; blood pressure, cholesterol, and diabetes screenings; monitoring for chronic conditions; safety training; Medicare Part D review; health education outreach; and more. Comprehensive dental services will be offered to 50 qualified attendees, and preventive dental services will be offered to 150 qualified attendees.
The funding for the health fair comes from a $73,415 grant given by Kaiser Permanente to University of the Pacific last fall.
