Ariz. dentists can do Botox; is NYU going amalgam-free?

Dear DrBicuspid Member,

Dentists in Arizona can administer Botox and dermal fillers as long as it is part of a dental treatment plan, according to a Substantive Policy Statement update issued in June by the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners.

Meanwhile, over in the Restoratives Community, dental students at New York University were alarmed by a letter they received from faculty last month that appeared to indicate the school would be phasing out amalgam restorations. And reaction to the ADA's midlevel provider economic analysis continues to pour in. Two veteran dentists share their thoughts on the ADA reports -- one in support of the ADA's position, the other not so much -- in our Second Opinion op-ed section. Click here and here to read what they have to say.
