AADR names new president

The American Association for Dental Research (AADR) has appointed Rena D'Souza, DDS, PhD, as its 41st president at the group's recent annual meeting in Tampa, FL.

Dr. D'Souza is professor and chair of the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M Health Science Center Baylor College of Dentistry, Dallas. She specializes in craniofacial development and genetics, with an emphasis on transcription factors in regulating epithelial-mesenchymal interactions during tooth morphogenesis, according to a press release.

She currently serves as the program director of a National Institutes of Health (NIH) T32 training grant and is investigator of several NIH-supported research projects, according to the AADR.
