Ga. tables hygienist proposal; CAMBRA making headway?

The Georgia Board of Dentistry has decided to reconsider a proposal that would have changed the level of supervision for hygienists in certain settings. In a meeting January 7, the board heard testimony from the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and state and local groups, many arguing that the change would limit access to care for some of the state's most vulnerable populations. In other news, researchers and academics gathered in San Francisco last week to discuss the current status of the caries management by risk assessment (CAMBRA) movement and address roadblocks that remain in getting clinicians to adopt CAMBRA into daily practice.
