Survey: Medical and dental benefits still being cut

U.S. employers continue to target medical and dental benefits in their efforts to cut costs, according to a new Glassdoor.com survey of 2,118 adults (almost all of whom were employed full or part time).

The survey, which was conducted by Harris Interactive, found that 40% of employees said their company made organizational, staff, or benefit changes during the fourth quarter of 2010. Of the 40%, 28% reported reductions to their medical or dental benefits.

These cuts in health benefits are the largest in eight quarters, according to Glassdoor, although they came as fewer employees reported pay cuts, company layoff plans, hiring freezes, and cuts to other perks.
