GC America expands manufacturing facility

GC America recently held a grand opening ceremony to celebrate the expansion and renovation of its Alsip, IL, facility.

A 40-year resident of Alsip's industrial community, GC America expanded its manufacturing plant by 25% to 100,000 sq ft and transplanted its dental stone manufacturing plant from Japan to Alsip. This move increased production in the U.S. and expanded employment opportunities directly and indirectly, the company said.

"When other companies are moving manufacturing offshore, this transplant is a show of confidence in GC's U.S. subsidiary," said Carolyn Van Eck, vice president and chief financial officer of GC America, in a press release. "This sets the stage for the future growth and expansion of GC America as a U.S. dental manufacturer."
