Dental mission helps 1,800 in Ethiopia

On October 1, 2010, nine Smile Generation dentists and 40 other individuals set out on a trip to serve the dental needs of the people of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, according to the nonprofit group.

Throughout the weeklong journey, the dental team was able to see almost 1,800 patients while visiting government clinics, orphanages, and Korah, a 75-year-old village established to transplant people with leprosy outside of the city.

"What an incredible blessing it was to be able to meet and care for the people of Korah," said Kyle Guerin, Smile Generation manager, in a press release. "We came to make an impact on the lives of the people of Korah; we left with Korah making a huge impact on all of our lives."

The trip was led by Moody Alexander, D.D.S., an orthodontist in Arlington, TX, who was joined by nine other practitioners.
