Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson -- a former pro wrestler turned actor -- will star in "The Tooth Fairy," a film set to be released in January 2010.
According to the film's synopsis, "A bad deed on the part of a tough minor-league hockey player (Johnson) results in an unusual sentence: He must serve one week as a real-life tooth fairy."
The movie's tag line? "The tooth hurts."
"I jumped at playing the Tooth Fairy because it's an opportunity to show the world, for the very first time, a movie about a character that's been around for centuries," Johnson said in an interview with Parade magazine.
The movie, directed by Michael Lembeck (best known for Tim Allen's "The Santa Clause" movies), hits theaters January 22.
