Dentist sued for dancing while drilling

A dentist in Syracuse, NY, has been sued by a patient for allegedly dancing while drilling her tooth, according to an Associated Press (AP) story.

The lawsuit alleges that George Trusty, D.D.S., a dentist at Syracuse Community Health Center, started dancing to a song playing on the radio while he was preparing Brandy Fanning's tooth prior to extracting it.

The bur snapped off and lodged near her eye, and Fanning had to undergo emergency surgery.

The lawsuit seeks $600,000 for medical expenses, pain, and suffering. It was filed in federal court because the health center operates under federal law, according to the AP.
