Heraeus implants off the market; U.S. grapples with mobile dentistry

Sign of the times: Heraeus Kulzer announced this week that it is discontinuing its IQ:NECT implant product line. Despite continued predictions of growth for the global dental implant market, the company said the current economy hampered its ability to meet sales goals. Read more.

In related news, following Biomet 3i's announcement that its dental business saw a 16% drop in sales last quarter, analysts are anticipating that other implant companies will follow suit in coming weeks. Read more.
