Aspen Dental offers discounts to recession-hit UAW

Aspen Dental is offering a 25% discount until the end of 2009 to United Auto Workers (UAW) members affected by the recent General Motors layoffs and retirees whose benefits are being eliminated, the company announced.

The offer includes full and partial dentures, cleanings, fillings, bridges, and crowns, for UAW retirees, members, and their families who no longer have dental insurance. In some cases in which comprehensive dental care is needed, the 25% discount could exceed the retiree's former insurance benefit.

"Aspen Dental dentists understand that it's very difficult to smile during these challenging economic times, especially with job losses and elimination of benefits," said Mary Boysman, vice president, brand marketing and advertising for Aspen Dental, in a press release. "As members of communities in which GM retirees and members of their families live, our doctors and staff want to do everything we can to help people get the dental care they deserve."
