Zimmer Dental has introduced two additions to its line of regenerative products: Puros Demineralized Bone Matrix (DBM) Putty and Puros DBM Putty with Chips.
The first of its kind to be made entirely from human allograft material, the ready-to-use Puros DBM Putty, with and without chips, offers "excellent handling and time-saving convenience for optimum bone regeneration," the company stated in a press release. The premixed, moldable putty is packaged for easy extrusion and delivery. In addition, the pliable putty maintains its form and resists migration in a fluid environment.
Puros DBM Putty is sterilized to SAL 10-6 using low-temperature, low-dose gamma irradiation, according to Zimmer. In addition, the company noted that every donor lot of DBM powder used to manufacture the putty is tested for osseoinductive potential in an in vivo rat assay, and only lots of DBM powder demonstrating bone formation and no significant inflammatory response are utilized for processing.
Puros DBM Putty is manufactured for Zimmer Dental by RTI Biologics.
