Kaiser Permanente recently awarded 33 nonprofit organizations oral health grants totaling more than $3 million to fund services for at-risk populations in underserved communities in Southern California.
The grants will address the oral systemic link, especially the link between chronic oral infections and diabetes, osteoporosis, and heart and lung conditions, according to Kaiser Permanente.
"Kaiser Permanente continues to provide extensive support to the community to expand access to care for vulnerable and uninsured populations, with a focus on preventative, primary, and specialty care services," stated Diana Bontá, vice president of public affairs for Kaiser Permanente Southern California, in a press release.
