3M ESPE has introduced its ESPE Imprint 4 VPS impression material, a material that has a 75-sec set time.
The set time is sped up with an active self-warming feature that the company developed for the product. A unique chemical reaction causes the material to actively and quickly warm up to body temperature after the working time, substantially accelerating the intraoral setting. The usual working time is not affected, so dentists can observe good impression-taking technique and avoid problems in capturing the impression, ensuring reliable results, 3M ESPE explained.
The impression material's super hydrophilicity helps it capture details. Imprint 4 wash material shows better hydrophilicity than any other VPS impression material in its unset state, the company noted.
Imprint 4 VPS impression material is available in Heavy & Super Quick Heavy, Light & Regular, Super Quick Light & Regular, and Putty formulations. The material will be introduced at the 3M ESPE booth, No. 3101, at the ADA Annual Session in New Orleans, October 31 through November 3.
