Cody Rhodes, World Wrestling Entertainment’s The American Nightmare, allegedly had his tooth knocked out during 2024 Royal Rumble match before he was named the winner, according to news reports.
Sometime during the event on January 27 before Rhodes outwrestled CM Punk, Rhodes was hit in the mouth hard and what appeared to be tooth landed next to him on the mat. Neither WWE or Rhodes has confirmed the injury, and other professional wrestling sites indicate the object in the ring may not have been a tooth but rather a piece of apple left over from fellow wrestler Carlito's move of chewing an apple and spitting it at another wrestler.
This win has Rhodes moving onto the main event world title match at WrestleMania 40, which is scheduled to be held in April in Philadelphia.
