A Philadelphia Phillies fan may need to replace two missing teeth following a stunning run-in with field security at Citizens Bank Park during the October 17 National League Championship Series (NLCS) game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
“Toward the end of the game, it was the eighth inning, I looked over at my buddy and I’m like, 'Yo, I’m going to head down there,'” explained the Phillies fan on CrossingBroad. “I had one foot over the wall, and I went for it.” Game 2 of the NLCS ended in a 10-0 shutout favoring the Phillies, apparently propelling the fan to storm the field.
The fan's goal, as explained in the interview, was to make it to the other side of the field and then back into the stands. However, security intervened.
The Phillies fan said the impact was so severe that it felt like he had been hit by a bus. He could not pinpoint what happened to either of his teeth; that is, whether they might still be on the ballfield or if they had been swallowed.
It was unclear which two teeth the fan lost; however, the man pointed to his lower-right mandible. Watch the interview below.
