Heraeus Kulzer has introduced its new Venus Bulk Fill flowable posterior composite that is designed to enable bulk filling of 4 mm.
By delivering low shrinkage stress, better wear resistance, high radiopacity, and a depth of cure in 4-mm increments, Venus Bulk Fill is "what the dental profession has been looking for -- the complete confidence to bulk fill an aesthetic posterior composite in half the procedure time without sacrificing quality," said Robert Morus, D.D.S., in a company press release.
In a survey conducted in May 2010 by Integrated Media, 82% of surveyed dentists claimed a savings of up to 10 hours of chair time per month when they use a bulk fill material, according to Heraeus.
Venus Bulk Fill is ideal for use as a bulk fill base or liner below a final layer of Venus Diamond composite, the company noted.
