Alfa Insurance is partnering with Blue Cross and Blue Shield (BCBC) of Alabama to offer health and dental insurance.
BCBS health and dental policies that are available both on and off the new federally facilitated health insurance marketplace will now be available from Alfa offices throughout Alabama. Consumers will be able to purchase individual health and dental policies from their local Alfa agent, online at AlabamaBlue.com, or directly from a BCBS sales agent in person or by phone.
BCBS is the only company offering individual coverage through the federally facilitated marketplace in 64 of Alabama's 67 counties.
The federal law requires individual coverage by January 1, and it provides subsidies for those making less than 400% of the federal poverty level.
