Delta Dental CEO to retire

Delta Dental Plans Association President and CEO Kim Volk is retiring after 30 years with the company.

Steve Olson, a partner with law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman and former legal counsel for Delta Dental, will replace Volk, according to the company. The change takes effect on January 31.

During Volk's tenure, Delta Dental grew to insure more than 60 million Americans in more than 95,700 employee groups nationwide. Additionally, the company earned $17 billion in revenues and donated more than $88 million toward community benefit efforts in 2011.

Before becoming CEO, Volk was vice president and chief administrative officer, responsible for government relations and marketing communications.
