A woman filed a lawsuit against airline JetBlue claiming that a "frozen solid" ice cream sandwich she was served on her flight led her to fracture the root of her tooth, according to multiple news reports.

Kiara Quinonez alleges in a U.S. lawsuit filed on October 22 in the New York Eastern District that she was served a Nightingale brand strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwich at a temperature that was below what is safe for consumption, leading her to crack one of her upper incisors. Also, she claims that JetBlue did not warn her of the "dangerously cold" temperature of the ice cream, according to reports.

She alleges that her injury, which occurred on a flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris on August 20, required an emergency tooth extraction and eventually a dental implant and additional care. Quinonez claims the air carrier's negligent acts led to her injury.

Quinonez is seeking a jury trial and an undetermined sum from JetBlue for the alleged pain, suffering, and mental anguish her injury caused. Additionally, the JetBlue passenger claims that she incurred expenses for dental care and treatment, which are ongoing, according to reports.
