A dental assistant in Arkansas has been arrested for allegedly billing Medicaid for about $18,000 in services that were never rendered to patients, according to a press release dated October 25 from the Attorney General of Arkansas.
Victoria Smith-Williams, 36, of Conway, AR, was arrested on October 17 and charged with one count of Medicaid fraud. Currently, Smith-Williams is free on a $10,000 bond.
While working as a dental assistant, Smith-Williams is accused of billing the state $18,000 for comprehensive community support services that were never rendered to Medicaid recipients, according to the release.
A criminal complaint is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
