New year and new changes for DrBicuspid, plus top stories of the week

Kevin Henry

Dear DrBicuspid Member,

I know there are plenty of people who believe it’s officially too late to wish you a happy new year, so I will simply kick off this letter from the editor by hoping that you are off to a productive and healthy start to 2024.

My team and I here at DrBicuspid are already planning some great additions to the site for 2024. That includes a focus on podcasts and how we can use this form of media to allow our readers (and listeners) to hear from the nation’s leading experts on everything from practice management to clinical skills. You will see a network being built on our site that includes some of the most popular podcasts in the industry, including this week’s discussion on “The High Performing Dental Team” about the biggest worries our readers told us about and how those can be resolved or lessened. Additionally, the DrBicuspid podcast produced a new episode this week with Alex Nottingham of All-Star Dental Academy detailing the three silent killers that could be holding your practice back from reaching its full potential.

Along with podcasts, we will produce DrBicuspid Insider newsletters every Wednesday that will be delivered directly to your inbox with a focus on a specific topic that impacts your dental practice. Be on the lookout for those starting on Wednesday, January 10, with a special focus on empowering and enlightening your dental assistants. Keeping your team together is a must in 2024, and we’re here to help with some articles for these important team members.

In other news, some of the biggest stories of the new year so far have revolved around dentists and legal issues, including an oral surgeon sentenced to prison for murder and a massive malpractice case that has evolved in Michigan.

Our readers have also been eating up predictions for 2024, including what some DSO leaders are seeing when it comes to their own hiring and staffing needs. We’re also watching the power of social media regarding “the perfect smile” and why patients may try to overrule you when it comes to their treatment.

Yes, 2024 is off to a roaring start already, and I’m thrilled that you consider DrBicuspid.com a part of your day. Thanks for reading and never hesitate to drop me an email here with a story idea or suggestion.
