A couple was arrested on March 17 for allegedly pilfering more than $1.1 million from a Syracuse, NY-area dental practice, where one of the accused had been fired from her job, according to a New York State Police press release.

Kimber Cummings, a former employee at a dental practice in the Village of Baldwinsville, and Wayne Cummings, 51, were arrested and charged with felony counts of first-degree grand larceny and first-degree money laundering. The 47-year-old ex-employee was also charged with second-degree attempted grand larceny, which is also a felony, according to the release issued March 18.

The Brewerton, NY, pair purportedly stole approximately $1.1 million from a dental practice, which police did not identify. Of the stolen funds, about $435,804 was allegedly laundered from the couple's bank accounts through two limited liability corporations, which Kimber Cummings reportedly formed after she was terminated from the practice, according to the release.

Kimber Cummings allegedly tried to pay herself approximately $120,908 after she was terminated from her employment at the dental practice, according to state police.

After they were arrested, they were taken to a justice center in New York, where they awaited arraignment, the press release stated.
