Delta Dental of Iowa members are now covered for virtual visits for dental emergencies.
The visits are provided by TeleDentistry.com, and they are covered for Delta Dental of Iowa members at no additional cost.
Telehealth dentists can provide initial consultations and prescribe medication if needed, the company said. A virtual visit is counted as an oral exam under most plans and may be subject to frequency limits, Delta Dental noted.
