The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) on May 7 released updated guidance on resuming dental practice, the California Dental Association (CDA) said.
The new guidance addresses local infection rates, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, COVID-19 screenings for patients, and infection control protocols from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The CDA has also developed recommendations for screening, infection control, and the use of PPE consistent with the state's guidance, it said.
