Protect your practice from hackers

On the black market, dental charts are now more lucrative than Social Security numbers, and hackers are willing to dive through dumpsters for valuable patient information. At the Chicago Dental Society Midwinter Meeting, Dr. Pat Little shared how to protect your practice from the fastest-growing form of identity theft in the U.S.

AAPD CEO highlights kids' education

February is Children's Dental Health Month. DrBicuspid.com spoke with John S. Rutkauskas, DDS, CEO of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD), to learn ways that dentists can celebrate the occasion.

Dr. Rutkauskas shared how dentists can use oral health-related stuffed animals, called Mouth Monsters, to educate and motivate children. In addition, he discussed common misconceptions parents have about their children's oral health and some plans for AAPD in 2019.
