Philips emphasizes systemic health
While not introducing any new products at CDA Presents 2018 in Anaheim, CA, Philips did introduce a new booth for trade shows and a new focus on oral-systemic health. DrBicuspid.com spoke with Peter Bright, the director of Professional Marketing North America for Philips, about his company's focus and plans.
Philips has spent considerable time with dental professionals on what they want and need out of products and technology to help them serve their patients better, Bright said.
The company also debuted an overhauled booth at the show. Part of the thinking behind the new booth was to emphasize systemic healthcare and the healthcare continuum to the dental professionals who visit it at a conference, Bright said. The company also highlighted new oral-systemic healthcare brochures on that can be ordered by dental offices on topics such as oral health and pregnancy and oral health and diabetes.

Patterson Dental released new cloud-based practice management software.
Fuse is a web browser-based application designed to centralize a practice's scheduling, patient information, and business data, making it accessible anywhere and in real-time. The software comes out of more than 400 discussions with dentists, practice managers, hygienists, and consultants about what they needed in practice management software.
The product is designed for single- or multiple-location practices and includes a "walk me" feature that helps users learn the program.

Water Pik debuts combination device
Water Pik highlighted its newly introduced combination toothbrush-interdental cleaner, the Sonic-Fusion. The product allows a patient to brush and floss at the same time. It has 10 settings for pressure control and 60 seconds of water capacity.
The product will be available in June 2018.
